Suitability +
These tablets are specifically for dogs suffering from congestive heart failure due to valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), including preclinical DCM in large breeds. Possible side effects may include a moderate increase in heart rate, vomiting, transient diarrhea, anorexia, or lethargy. Cardisure is contraindicated in dogs with hypertrophic cardiomyopathies or conditions where increased cardiac output is not recommended, such as aortic stenosis. Use in pregnant or lactating dogs should only occur if the benefits outweigh the risks.
Care and Instructions +
Administer Cardisure tablets orally on an empty stomach, at least one hour before feeding. The typical dosage range is 0.2 mg to 0.6 mg/kg bodyweight per day, divided into two doses given approximately 12 hours apart. The preferable daily dose is 0.5 mg/kg bodyweight. Tablets are scored for easy splitting. Store below 25°C, protected from light, and keep out of reach of dogs to prevent accidental ingestion.
